The hardships he faced were unimaginable and The Blind Side movie did a great job at depicting this. The movie begins with a voice over of Michael telling his story while playing himself in the film, The Blind Side! Although The Blind Side is an inspirational true story, it does have its discrepancies from what really happened during the course of Michael’s transformation from rags to riches.

First off, The Blind Side movie characterizes Leigh Anne Tuohy as this super mom that moved into the neighborhood next to Michael’s rundown apartment complex because she wanted to help him out by giving him food and clothing like an older sister would do (The Blind Side). The truth is that they didn’t live anywhere near each other; however; The Blind Side movie makes it seem that way. The film even exaggerates the story by making The Blind Side seem as if Michael came to live with their family so he could go to The Briarcrest Christian School because The Tuohy’s live right next door, which is completely false.

The movie also leaves out a lot of information about Leigh Anne and Sean’s meeting and how they became such close friends ( The Fordham Bald Blog: A Look at The Blind Side Movie). The truth is that they didn’t meet until after The Tuohy’s had already seen The Blind Side movie and they actually first met at the The Tuohy’s church after The Fordham Bald Blog had put The Blind Side on their blog site.

This information was purposely omitted from The Blind Side movie to give it more of an impact by giving us the viewer, a similar story line as The Blind Side book. The film also leaves out many important events during Michael Oher’s transformation from rags to riches including his relationship with his brother, Johnny ( The Fordham Bald Blog: A Look at The Blind Side Movie). The movie makes it seem as if Leigh Anne is the only person in Michael Oher’s corner but that isn’t true.
