Personal Narrative: My Shared Vision Essay

The Shared Vision I am currently in the process of crafting includes working for an organization that will challenge me to grow both in knowledge and as a person. Peace Corp is one organization that can give me what I want out of my company and organization and how I am going to get that out of my new organization. At this time I am trying to link my personal vision to the organization’s potential in order to help myself align the organization’s purpose with my own purpose (vision): and to prepare the individual groundwork for creating a shared vision.

I am at a crossroads on my career path, where I can either I can decide on my personal vision and try and line up my career with that vision or I can let someone else determine what type of work I do. If I choose the latter, I will turn my life over to them by spending my time at work in a state of nonexistence. But if I take control of the situation, I will be able to decipher what kind of organization and people that I would like to work for and with. I can decide what type of product or service I want to create, where I want to work, what I want to do while I am working.

Additionally a personal vision will help me to decipher what tools and resources that I will need in order to create and turn this personal vision into a reality for both me and my organization. In order to evaluate my current and potential organizations to make sure that they lined up with my personal vision, I decided to ask myself some important questions in order to evaluate if it is the right fit. I am trying to decipher what I want my organization to become and what I want to become (fit into) inside of the organization.
