Quakie The Mortal Child Analysis Essay

There was once a good witch, named Quakie who was married to a brave knight, Trey. They were about to give birth to a baby girl, in the land of Mystic. Mystic is a discreet town in Greece. But, a witch must have a mortal child, or else your life would be taken, for not fulfilling the good witch legacy. There was only one way the spirits would give back witch’s lives, and the way was… the immortal child, (of the witch) would have to do great deeds for the world.

Trey was entitled to being a knight, he signed a lifetime contract defending the kingdom of Crease, but due to the fact the small family was expecting, he had to stop his duties, in Crease. He made a deal with the king, that when the girl turned 18, she must come and defend the Capitol, taking Trey’s position. Quakie gave birth to her child in a small cottage, where a young nurse delivered the child. The nurse was a family friend and knew that Quakie would pass. The baby came and Quakie got one look at her child before she died.

Quakies last wish, was that her daughter’s name was to be Aspen because she loved the way aspen trees looked. Quakie wasn’t pleased about her life coming to an end, but she believed that her daughter would do something great in this world. Trey too believed that their daughter would make a difference in the world, serving Crease. Time past, and Trey was preparing Aspen to serve Crease, as promised. Trey spent everyday training Aspen how to fight, shoot archery, and how to live off the land. Willingly, Aspen got stronger each day and and was too, determined to bring her mother back.

At times Aspen would wonder about her mother, Trey had told Aspen all about her and why she had passed away. Occasionally, Aspen blamed herself for her mother’s death and wanted badly for her mother to come back. One day when Aspen was thirteen walked to the meadows searching for game to kill, but she stumbled upon a horse. The colt was as white as the clouds and had grey stocking, she stood tall and powerful. Surprisingly, Aspen caught the horse quickly, she looked for an owner but no one was in sight, so she decided she would keep her. The horse was named Aglaia, after the beautiful Greek Goddess.

When Aspen and Aglaia arrived, Trey spoke out to Aspen that she was allowed to keep the horse, because it was only right that she had a horse to carry her on her duties. Trey helped Aspen train Aglaia, and with time the horse became very easy to handle. Aspen and Aglaia rode in through the meadows, hunted game, etc. The days flew and Aspen was going to turn eighteen in six days, Crease was a five day journey from her home, so Aspen and Aglaia would leave today. The young girl woke, with a sad feeling in her gut, thinking of her days with her father, and how they were about to end.

Trey called for Aspen from outside and told her that he had fixed breakfast. She came out and spoke words with her father, he then gave her a present wrapped in clothed. Trey had hiked through Star Falls and found a magical bow, that had a danger sensor on it and shot by itself when needed. He thought he would give it to Aspen before she left for Crease. “What’s this, she asked? “Open it,” Trey spoke. Aspen slowly took the cloth off and stared at her new bow with awe, there were carvings all over and in some places a light blue sparkled through.

She thanked and hugged her father, then ate her last meal with her dad. Trey prepared a five days worth of food and water, for both Aglaia and Aspen. While Aspen saddled up Aglaia, and created homes for her new bow and arrow, and pack. She rode Alagaia out of the barn and Trey told her to be wise, cautious, and that he was very proud of her. Her eyes filled with tears and she told her father to she loved him, and then she left. She followed the trails that ancient trolls once made, for a whole, seven hours. They came upon a cave, walked inside, and then Aspen served both herself and Aglaia food.

With their stomachs full, they drifted off to sleep. Aspen woke to Aglaia neighing her loudest, Aspen reached for her bow, but the young fellow ahead, dressed in fine gold armour, sword at his side, put his hands up. “Who are you, yelled Aspen? ” “Tobias Son of Bresh. ” Aspen sat with Tobias, asking him about his life, she then invited Tobias to come with her to Crease, he agreed. He had a horse as well, so they rode on, only stopping when the sun went down. Finally, they reached the gates of Crease, they rode inside, jumped down from their horses, and walked to the King.

King George asked about Tobias, Aspen told him that she inherited a partner along the way. The King willingly agreed to pay both for their duties if done right. He told them of a evil witch, Sakura, Aspen was in terrible fright when the next few words slithered out from the king’s mouth, Sakura would kill immortal children for her own glory. They stayed in Crease for the night, and then left at dusk for Pace, were Sakura layer is located. They found Sakura in her filthy layer, looking in through a window, they watched her mix poison for a good twenty minutes.

She turned around, saw the two, and then threw an axe through the window. Aspen moved her head before it could reach her, Tobias jumped through the window meeting Sakura head to head, by then Aspen had entered in through a secret passage and was hiding 50 yards behind the wicked witch. Where she targeted her bow and Sakura’s head, she released the arrow… she had missed. Aspen woke up by a fire, alone. Suddenly, Tobias came out from the woods with wood in his bulky, hands. “What happened? ” spoke Aspen with a confused tone. After you shot your arrow, Sakura hit you with a metal box in the head, giving me enough time to kill her with my sword. ” “How did I miss, I was nearly right next to her? ” questioned Aspen “Maybe you just a little stressed out, this is all new for you,” assured Tobias. “You’re right I will practice when we return to Crease, but thank you for protecting me. ” Tobias nodded and in that moment Aspen suddenly trusted Tobias completely and knew that they were a great team. It only took a matter of time before the two were back in Crease. The King rewarded them with gold and a meal.

Two days rest was plenty of time for Aspen to recover and practice her shooting. She continued to hear her father’s advice vividly running through her head while shooting, and that seemed to focus her into her shot. Tobias was busy sharpening his knives and swords, for the upcoming tasks ahead. They received their next task in a scroll, it read: A witch from the west has brung upon millions of venomous bats to The Town of Trust. You and Tobias will need to kill these bats and bring healing waters to the sick people, be warned these bats will kill one in seconds.

In the wagon by your horse stalls waits non explosive bombs that will kill the bats. In trust, King George Aspen looked at Tobias with a shocked look, and then turned and walked to the stables. She loaded the wagon onto Aglaia, the horse sighed hard and rubbed her head against Aspen. “Let’s go girl, sympathetically spoke Aspen. ” “Ready? ” asked Tobias “Yes! ” The journey consisted of robbers along the way, but they were easy kills, Aspen’s bow sensor, beeped signaling danger. The horses had customized protective suits, prepared by the sewing people of Crease, once they were all ready they approached Trust.

A bat was coming straight at Aspen, so she shot and not only did the arrow take out the bat, but 100 others. While Aspen kept the bats away with her bow, Tobias prepared the bombs. “1, 2, 3! ” shouted Tobias. The bombs made a screeching sound and a mass of smoke, once the two could see they realized all the bats were gone. They then began working on, aiding the people. They ended up saving most of the people with the healing water, but there was a large amount of individuals that passed away. The people were in great respect of Aspen’s little, but brave team.

After receiving lots of gratitude and beds to sleep in, they left at dawn. The team of four had endless amounts of gold and gratitude, but the King had assigned once more a task, they were to kill the most dangerous, Frate. Frate was an evil snake who was black and had green and red eyes. He lived by Hades Castle in a bone filled pit, he would slither into Hades Castle through a small opening and eat the dead. Hades was no amount compared to the snake, for even he was afraid to stand up to the deadly beast. Aspen and Tobias left their horses in Crease and only took with them a bow and sword.

They met Hades in a secret layer where the snake couldn’t reach them, Hades told all about the snake. But there was no way Aspen and Tobias could kill him alone, so Hades brought back, some of the dead and they made an army. They attacked the snake one night in his cave, setting it on fire and shooting the snake, but he wasn’t going down without a fight. Aspen shot the snake almost a million times but each one hit his skin and bounced of like Aspen hadn’t even released an arrow. But while all the dead were fighting with all their power, Aspen knew he had to shoot him square in the heart where there was no protecting skin. She climbed on to a ledge in the cave and took a long steady breath and then “ssss, ffic. ” Aspen did it she defeated the almighty snake, Hades took the snake and put it alone, in locked cellar, and then put the dead back into their homes. The King sent letters stating that Tobias and Aspen were to go home for one year, Aspen leaped with joy, but Tobias just stood with an empty look.

“What’s wrong, aren’t you ready to go home? ” “My dad died 1 year ago, and my mother, well I haven’t seen her since I was two. Then come home with me,” asked Aspen. Tobias wasn’t one to place his feet were there weren’t wanted, but Aspen assured him, that he his more than welcome. From the underworld to Mystic was only a day’s worth of travel, so King George sent their horses, they received them two days later, while they were waiting Aspen told stories of her home, and they stayed in a small town in the underworld. They received their horses and went home, as they approached them small house they saw a woman weeding the garden with Trey.

The spirits allowed Quakie to come back because of all the things Aspen had done for the world. Aspen didn’t know who this woman was, but both Trey and Quakie ran to Aspen and hugged her. Trey explained that the spirits gave Quakie’s life back because Aspen made the world a better place, and Aspen told about Tobias. That same year Tobias proposed… Aspen and Tobias got married in a church in Crease, everyone was there and everyone was happy, but that year eventually came to an end. Tobias and Aspen returned to Crease ready to fight whatever came their way.
