Comparative Essay “The Help” and “To kill a Mockingbird” are two astonishing reads. These novels are a must read because they hold Multitude amounts of knowledge. The Two books have numerous amounts of similarities. These novels possess heaps of morals in which plenty could acquire knowledge from. “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The Help” are two marvelous literatures in which character similarities are delineated through the novels, how poverty is portrayed through characters, and also ultimately how there is racism and segregation betwixt the two races.

The cunninghams had no money at all and they paid everyone with grains because they were hard working people and they didn’t steal, they always paid their full fee’s with grains. This quote shows how the Cunninghams had paid off Atticus with grains.

Yule May was going to pay Hilly back but Hilly rejected her.
This caused Yule May to steal a ruby ring that she thought was real but it wasn’t and Hilly knew that as well. Hilly made sure Yule May was sentenced for four years even though the ring was fake. Yule May only did this for her kids because she knew that she didn’t want her children to go through poverty like her. Yule May wanted her children to be rich in education so that they could break the poverty circle in their family and so that they could also have a wonderful life. There are numerous amounts of comparisons between these two wonderful novels.
Yule May and The cunninghams are both poor and suffer from poverty. The Cunninghams and Yule may Both want to educate their children so that they could be rich in education. Yule May and the Cunninghams are both hard working and care for their children’s future a lot. These two characters are very corresponding. The author’s message is the same because they both are trying to convey that poor people are humans too and they also want to educate their children. “The Help” and “To Kill a Mockingbird” show enormous amounts of racism faced by African Americans in the southern states.
The amount of discrimination faced by African Americans could not be expressed in words because what they have faced is worth more than a bunch of words on a white piece of paper. African Americans have been through numerous amounts of gigantic barriers and these barriers have been expressed in these wonderful novels, to showcase their real life struggles past racism. Racism has been expressed by words in the novel “The Help” which has instructed us about segregation and also about the cruel Jim Crow Laws.

This is very cruel calling an African American a ” Disease” Lots of racism and segregation is portrayed throughout the novel, this quote has proved how African Americans have to hear brutal comments about themselves, and how difficult it must be on them. subsequently Aibileen talks about how she feels after what Miss Leefolt said. “I want to yell so loud that Baby Girl can hear me that dirty ain’t a color, disease ain’t the Negro side a town.

There is a case in “To Kill a Mockingbird” about a young African American. “Maycomb was interested by the news of Tom’s death for perhaps two days;two days was enough for the information to spread through the country.

Just show that robinson boy was legally married, they say he kept himself clean, went to church and all that, but when it comes down to the line the veneer’s mighty thin. This very hard working young African American named Tom Robinson has been accused of raping Bob Ewell’s daughter even though he is viciously innocent. All evidence was against Bob Ewell but the court was very racist towards this young African American. Tom Robinson had lost the case even though all evidence was in front of the judge. Then he tried to run free because he knew that he wa a black man and that he wasn’t going to survive. Tom Robinson had no chance because he was black and he also knew that he had no chance of surviving. The novel “The Help” and “To Kill a Mockingbird” have many corresponding events which take place.
Both the characters Aibileen and Tom Robinson are African Americans. Aibileen and Tom Robinson face the same problems such as Aibileen got called a “colored disease” and Tom Robinson got called a “Nig*r”. They were both accused of something they didn’t do such as Tom Robinson was accused of raping Mayella Ewell and even though he had lots of evidence he was still considered a liar because of his skin colour. Aibileen got called dirty, which she clearly isn’t because she is human too and the only thing that is different is their skin colour.
These characters have faced the same problems, They both got called racist names, accused of someone their not, and their both African Americans. The author;s are conveying the same message. The message is that you should never be racist towards another skin colour because they’re human too they have a nose and two eyes just like white people. Respect others the way you would want to be respected. These two novels are well respected around the world because they carry so much thoughts about racism and poverty.
