A major symbol is the “Pomegranate tree” which stands for the vitality and growing lifelessness of Amir and Hassan’s friendship through their childhood and adulthood lives. In the novel, the author shows us how the Pomegranate tree is meet with twists and turns of Amir and Hassan, which could be a representation of their friendship.
