The Nineteenth Amendment grants all citizens the right to vote, regardless of their gender. This particular amendment was made to have the right to vote. This Amendment was also part of the twenty-seven constitutional Amendments of the United States. An Amendment is “a change or addition to a legal or statutory document”. He was fully supporting Women’s Suffrage. In the following two weeks the House of Representatives passed the Amendment. Two weeks after the House of Representatives passed and approved of the Amendment the senate did as well. The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 18th in the year of 1920. It was ratified on that day due to the fact that 50.5% of representatives said “yes” in order to approve this Amendment, to make it what it is today. On August 26th in 1920 women were officially allowed to vote. More than 26 million women were citizens and were finally able to speak for themselves. Female citizens did not share all the same rights that men had, which included the right to vote.
The 19th Amendment played a huge role in women’s other rights. Due to the fact that they could vote now they voted for presidents who supported them and gave them more rights. It brought them abortion rights, higher professional job rights, legalizing contraception rights, and many more. After women were allowed to vote they still did have all of their rights.
