1. How many of you have ever worried about the physical appearance of your bodies. Does this make you stressed and tired? II. Let’s take a look at our lives today. Now, we do not have to put a lot of effort to get things done because there are equipment that do this for us. Technology has led us to a convenient life. III. This convenience has made us more relaxed and sometimes lazy to do any activities, but if we want to keep our bodies young and healthy so that we can live a long life, we have to do some kind of exercise such as walking at least 30 minutes a day. I have seen the difference walking can do on people lives. IV. There are many people suffering everyday from many health diseases due to their lack of activities. Therefore, we should walk for at least 30 minutes a day to avoid any major health risks. V. Today, I will encourage each of you to walk for at least 30 minutes a day.

A. First, I will discuss how the lack of doing any type of exercise is harmful to our health. B. Next, I will discuss how people can prevent many diseases and stay healthy by walking for 30 minutes a day. C. Last. I will explain the overall results of walking for 30 minutes a day. Body 1. A lot of people die every year due to the lack of exercise. According to a research, “Lack of physical activity is a major health risk for premature mortality and chronic morbidity” (Serrano-Sánchez, Bello-Luján, Auyanet-Batista, Fernández-Rodríguez & González-Henríquez, 2014). A. Heart disease which is one of the main leading cause of death, is caused by the lack of doing activities.

1. The first cause of the top five causes that lead to death in the United States is diseases of the heart. (Yoon, Bastian, Anderson, Collins & Jaffe, 2014) 2. There are a lot of causes for the heart diseases; however, according to a study,” physical inactivity is the biggest heart disease risk factor” (2014) B. Another main cause that led to death in the United States is obesity which result from our eating habits and our lack of exercise. 1. Physical inactivity is a significant determinant of obesity, and most adults in the United States are inactive. ((Ross, Hudson, Stotz & Miu, 2015) 2. According to the a recent study,” 676,000 deaths each year were down to inactivity, compared with 337,000 from carrying too much weight” (Deaths From a Lack of Exercise, 2015) (Now that we understand the riskiness of this problem let’s discuss one solution, exercising regularly)

II. You can help solve this problem by walking 30 minutes a day. A. Walking is an inexpensive form of exercise and can be done at anytime and anywhere. 1. As a college students, we are not active as we believe. According to a research, “College students are not meeting the recommended levels of physical activity” (Pauline, 2013) 2. The level of activity for many of the college students have drop because during this time of our lives, all we care about is our academic and financial life. However, we could perform well in our academic life, financial life as well as our physical life if we only walked for 30 minutes. 3. By walking, the students do not need to spend money on buying membership of a gum and will save time because they could do this exercise while being at college. B.Walking does not require any training. 1. Anyone can do this exercise; it do not require specific age fitness level to be done. Anyone can do it easily. (Now that you are familiar with how to prevent many diseases and stay healthy by walking for 30 minutes a day, let’s look at the benefits that will result from doing this simple and effective exercise.)

III. I have learned that walking for 30 minutes can make a big difference for many lives. A.Walking for at least 30 minutes a day can protect us from many diseases. 1. According to a study, “Both daily runners and walkers lowered their blood pressure by at least 4.2 percent and their risk of heart disease by at least 4.5 percent” (Rubin, 2014) 2. Moreover, walking for 30 minutes can strengthen memory of the people. People who walk regularly “experienced a 2 percent average increase in size of the part of the brain that controls memory and emotion”(Rubin, 2014). 3. Walking regularly help a lot of people stay healthy and live longer. B. Imagine how great our live would be if we were able to prevent some of the main diseases that lead to death in the United States by only walking for 30 minutes a day.

Conclusion 1. There are many people suffering from heart diseases due to their lack of exercise, we should walk for at least 30 minutes a day to avoid any major health risks. II.
