Introduction
The play that my group and I read and presented was Behind Closed Doors, a play with the concept of, Tragedy in your past can affect your present if you do not let go and move on. The role I played was the director, which is a role in the theater, that’s very much so unappreciated. The purpose of the presentation project was to actually understand, hands on, what it takes to produce a Theatre play, and what the jobs and elements are to do so. In theatre, communication is key. Every job works in harmony with one another, and they all need each other to put on an incredible show.
My Role
Being the director, I played a substantial part in the involvement of each designers’ job. I set out to accomplish selecting an ideal play and analyzing the script, constructing research on actors, selecting the cast, and communicating with my group to ensure our work was well-organized. Both are a necessity to be successful in any career you decide to be in. By improving your presentation skills, you are not only opening the doors to business success, but to leadership and confidence. If people practice speaking in public, they will have an increased confident in themselves to communicate with others. Being able to speak to a crowd or audience with a loud and confident voice, is a great way to show leadership, it can help your other group members be more confident if you are confident. For the next team project, I would like to explore the career of the costume designer. In high school I, along with 4 other people, was in charge of getting the costume items the director (Theater Teacher) chose.
