Free range farming can be controversial. It is expensive, but also offers a better life for animals. In this discussion you will be informed about the good side of free range farming, the negative aspects of free range farming. I will also inform you about the costs of both.
There are a lot of good things about free range farming. One of many is that in the time span that the animals are living, they get a decent life. They get to interact with other animals and live a life like normal animals. They eat normal food instead of hormones to make them grow faster. Another good thing about free range farming is that the spread of bacteria from animal animal is slower or non-existent, unlike it is between those animals that are enclosed together in very small spaces. This means there is no or very minimal need to give the animals antibiotics which eventually end up in the food supply and then humans.
We should also consider how free…
Free range farming is a big problem when it comes to money. First you need to buy the land, but that doesn’t come cheap these days. Then you need to buy the animals and I don’t see them coming cheap either. Then you will also need to build a barn. To Build a barn you will need paint, wood, hay, workers and also you will need doors, windows just to name a few. Another cost could be is if you have a hole in your fence and when you finally find the hole at least 3 animals will have escaped. The first cost is the fence. The second is optional, you can either run around the town and find your animals, or you would need to buy new ones. Did you know that 99% of the meat we eat is factory farmed?
Clearly factory and free range farming systems have positive and negative aspects about them. Also clearly it is certain that free range farms are better for the animals in many ways. But, it is also evident that free range farms produce food products that are more costly than that produced on factory…
