I feel that the overall moral of the story is that time and effort will always pay off. However within that each character has a distinctive purpose within the story. The first and the second pig illustrate He two pigs prioritized pooh because they were both too focused on getting free time that they constructed their homes quickly and used weak material. The third pig represented hard work and had his priorities straightened out, unlike the two other pigs. The third pig was determined to build a strong house not just to sleep in, but made sure he was safe inside and away from the wolf.

The third pig always thought outside of the box and thought about the danger and how to keep him safe. The two other pigs didn’t think like the third pig, but wanted built a house quickly without putting time and effort into building it. That is why when the wolf huff and puffed the house went down within seconds. The wolf represents life challenges and struggles that we all face.. We can’t runaway from them like the first two pigs did because like the wolf did, it will continue to appear. s individuals we need to make sure that we are prepared for anything that life may throw at us. The last pig learned karate which is another method of self defense that employs hand strikes and kicks to disable an opponent. Just how the traditional story goes the first and second pigs run off to the third pigs house for help and to retreat from the wolf. The third pig always defeats the wolf in every story. The second pig thought he was too good and believed he master the skill of jujitsu.

The sensei told the second pig to come back and practice but he refused too. The first pig dropped out in less than two weeks from learning different skills and techniques because he got bored. But the third pig was determined and spent extra time practicing the skills she learned in martial arts school. She practiced and worked hard for months. She was determined in defeating and scaring off the wolf. With this book it was more specified and focused more on the martial arts skills then the homes they lived in.
