Justice and Freedom With quotes by Dr. Martin Luther King jr. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. ” An act of inequity for some could result in inequality for all, unless citizens of the world do something about it. A current example of inequality for one would be how females are being treated compared to males in a variety of settings. People of color and different races are another example of people receiving unequal treatment. Throughout the world, inequality can be seen through those who are less fortunate than others.
Every individual regardless of gender, race, and socioeconomic status deserves the right of freedom and justice. In our society, males have always been seen as superior to females. Only males were allowed to work because they were seen as stronger than females. Only males were allowed to vote because they were seen as smarter than females. Throughout history, females have cried out for freedom, and fought for their rights to work and vote. Throughout the years female activists have gained most of their rights like to work and vote. In some businesses, a female does not earn equal wages as a male performing the same duties.
In a work environment a female is seen as weaker and not allowed to work the harder jobs like construction work or machine operators. Females have proven that they are capable of meeting the expectations to do these jobs as the world progressed, but they well never feel the joy of freedom until they are seen by all of mankind as equal to males. In some third world countries, females are seen as nothing; they do not work or vote, they cannot even show their faces in public because females have no rights there. When we think about these places, one cannot help but feel that there is suffering and inequality for the female gender.
Think outside of the box, take Hillary Clinton for example. America in the eyes of some third world countries will become known as the weakest countries of all time because of our female president. Hilary may be strong, brave and do everything in her power to protect the country as our president, but when she goes to meet with other countries, every single word she speaks to them will mean nothing because of the lack of respect they have for the female gender. We will be seen as weak and pointless to them due to how they see the female gender in their country. Thinking about female’s worldwide, freedom and justice is vague.
For there to be freedom and justice for those of the female gender the world must change first, “… the time is always right to do the right thing”. When we look at person of color what do we see? Throughout history, a person who is of color has been seen as negative, a bad person, an uneducated person, a dangerous person. When we think about now, the society we live in, has anything really changed? Race differences and stereotypes are still massively present. People feel uncomfortable when conversation about race comes up.
They choose not to speak of it or even acknowledge that race issues even exist, however, lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”. In life, it is hard for a person of color to enjoy freedom because the people of the world simply will not let them. It may be hidden in the shadows, but a person of color has little or no chance to prove themselves. One will always make assumptions and stereotypes. For example, white people are all racist or all African Americans are uneducated and dangerous.
We the people are responsible for the creation of these stereotypes. When it comes to justice and freedom for people of color, there may be potential…. f we as people come together to make a change. As mentioned before, the world must change in order for there to be justice and freedom. “We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools”. Love is the key word. If everyone in this world loved one another as much as they love themselves and showed that love, then there would be true justice and absolute freedom for all. Lending a helping hand, speaking encouraging and loving words, so little as to say a small prayer for the people who a less fortunate than us can make a tremendous difference. People struggle to survive every day in poverty.
People who are less fortunate do not feel like they have freedom of justice. A lot of the people in our society just simply do not care about the people who are in need. Of course we do have our churches and charities who lend a helping hand, but what about the people who are not necessarily poor, like the orphanages or women’s shelters. In a worldly view we have children who are not able to attend school and people who cannot work so they cannot provide for their families. A lot of third world countries are poor due to their corrupt governments who take from them and do not give back. Americans are spoiled.
Some of us even suffer from obesity. We tend to take advantage of just how great the American lifestyle is, being able to work, go to school, have fresh clean water and food available etc. For those who are less fortunate here in America there is hope because we have a government that provides for them, versus those who do not have helpful government. To end hunger and poverty, I believe that people must simply care ENOUGH to REALLY HELP those in need. If everyone cared about their less fortunate neighbor and really helped them to the best of their ability, then they would be free from the binds of poverty.
Throughout history, Greed has driven people to evil and hatred because the love of money is the root of all evil. “Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness”. In conclusion, all people deserve the joys of freedom and justice. A female should never have to feel “less” than a male no matter where she is in the world. A person of a certain color or race should never have to be labeled or seen as “less” than someone else due to their race or color. Everyone should be able to work and have necessities like food and water no matter where they live in the world.
This beautiful world we live in is corrupt, full of hatred, greed, and sinful evil doers who want only to see the world burn. Within this cloud of darkness there is light. This faint light grows only through those who care, the people who do not hate the people who help that in need. The world must change in order for there to be justice and freedom for all to enjoy as their God given freedom. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that, hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”. In the end, it is all up to us to provide that light and give that love.
