Falling In Love In Romeo And Juliet Essay

In Shakespeare’s play,The Tragedy Romeo and Juliet, falling in love causes disgrace to both families. Sadly, it comes to a truce due to a tragic scene which we all come to know in this play. Romeo and Juliet have taken their lives as one lover dies for another. They’ll do whatever it takes to see each other even if it cost their lives. Before their death there was scenes of exclusive love between Romeo and Juliet, guidance from friends, and two regions clashing against each other. In today’s modern era of gang warfare, friendship, and love it is still playing a role of Romeo and Juliet from Elizabethan times.

Gang warfare is the new act of having a battle between two gang groups from despising each other which relates to Capulets against Montagues. “You lie. ” “Pull out your swords, if your men. Gregory remember how to slash” (1. 1. 52-54). Sampson, a Capulet, is picking on an innocent Montague named Abraham. Sampson was looking for trouble so he started a fence fight with Abraham. Consequently, it had both regions to start a riot. Fighting between Montagues and Capulets resembles modern day gang warfare. The resemblance from gang warfare is when gang members fight for property or trespassing on another gang’s turf.

In addition to gang warfares, one of the gang members might mock other gang groups to start a fight. Gang groups try to keep the peace between other gang groups like how Montagues and Capulets tried to keep the peace from each other. Capulets against Montagues is a resemblance in today’s gang warfare. Although, if Capulets and Montagues were allies there will be more friendships than hatred between the two regions. In modern times, a friendship is merely as relevant as Elizabethan times because there’s still people who treats other people equally.

“Wait. I’ll come with you. If you leave me like this, your doing me wrong. “” I’m not myself. I’m not here. This isn’t Romeo-he’s somewhere else”(1. 1. 187-190). Benvolio is try to help his sallow friend Romeo from being lamentable from Rosaline’s rejection of Romeo’s love. Benvolio will show Romeo how to forget about feeling sorrowful for Rosaline. Friendship is relevant for both centuries whether it is comforting a person from a vile situation or spending time with each other and working together. Your friend is always there for you to talk for advice or support you in tough times.

Even if friends fight they’ll try their best to resolve the problem. Friendship is a prodigious part of human society where it keeps people intact to gain each other’s trust, support, care and being a part of a person’s life. Later on, the friendship could move into a stage where both opposite sex are loving each other. For both centuries, love is a predominant element where two opposite genders have portentous feelings for each other. From medieval times it continues to progress into modern times.

Although, some parents restrict teens from meeting their lover and put ground rules to prevent it from happening. “I’d give anything to keep them from seeing you here. ” “The darkness will hide me from them. And if you don’t love me, let them find me here. I’d rather they killed me than have to live without your love” (2. 2. 74-78). In spite that Capulets and Montagues hate each other, both Romeo and Juliet don’t care if they’re from two opposing families. Juliet warned Romeo that if one of her relatives finds Romeo he will be executed.

By Romeo’s love he hides himself under the darkness. If Juliet doesn’t love Romeo he’ll rather die. Juliet truly loves Romeo and she will do anything to covert her true love from being seen. For parents, they believe that teenagers make the wrong decisions which can cause an effect in their future. “This ongoing construction in the thinking part of the brain, a teenager is, many times, not capable of fully processing information that is necessary to make responsible decisions”(Wolner 28). Basically, researches are saying that teenagers do make mistakes and have risky behavior.

For this to come upon a teenager is when the prefrontal cortex of the brain is still in process of being completed from maturing. Parents put up rules for their teenagers so they could “round out” a perfect person for their children. If a parent’s teen breaks the rules and falls in love a person that the parents disagree with it could cause family tragedies. Typical tragedies are disgracing your family’s honor and rarely child abuse. ” The idea of a romance between the couple horrified their families who banned them from seeing each other” (Rowe 24).

In other words, for both families of different ranks they believe the couple will cause a disgrace in their family’s honor. Therefore, the families of the couple decided to restrict them from seeing each other. If someone is going to be married the family will pair up their children with a children that they decided for marriage. Love is addressed to people who cares for each other and being there forever while having a healthy relationship. To what is shown in Romeo and Juliet’s love of commonly meeting each other, it is early shown in relationships of today’s tenagers.

Love is a natural power for human beings to express their true feelings to one another, later on being together with each other for eternity. In the end, these three themes are described as both grievant and astonishing. In humanity, this is part of our natural life cycle that keeps people together, forming a feud, and expressing our emotions. Augmenting from Elizabethan times to the twenty first century gang warfare, friendship, and love continues to show in today’s society. As our kind, we will continue to develop these actions and it will be passed on from generation to generation.
