Because if the leader of a country can talk to the people, he will have a lot easier job. Another essential quality of a good leader is nobility, since if he or she is noble to his citizens, there will be no conflict within the country. Mark Antony, from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, has several qualities of a great leader.

Julius Caesar was assassinated and Mark Antony was one of Julius Caesar’s right-hand man. After Julius Caesar’s death, Mark Antony gave a speech at Julius Caesar’s funeral. Brutus, another one of Julius Caesar’s right-hand man, also gave a speech at Julius Caesar’s funeral.

Even though Brutus killed Julius Caesar, he did it for the good of Rome. In his speech, Brutus tried to persuade the people that killing Julius Caesar was the right thing to do. On the other hand, Mark Antony tried to persuade the people that Julius Caesar was a good leader and that they should take revenge on Brutus and the conspirators.

Mark Antony starts off his speech by praising Julius Caesar and then he asks the people to lend him their ears. He talks about how Julius Caesar was such a great leader and how all he did was for the good of Rome. He also says that Julius Caesar was not ambitious and that he would have been a good ruler. Then, Mark Antony talks about Brutus and how he was Julius Caesar’s friend. He says that Brutus is an honorable man and that he would not be speaking if Brutus was not a part of the plot to kill Julius Caesar.

Mark Antony then asks the people to look at Julius Caesar’s body and see how much pain he went through. He tells the people to think about Julius Caesar’s wife and son and how they must feel. After that, Mark Antony asks the people to take Julius Caesar’s body and bury it. Lastly, he asks the people to take revenge on Brutus and the conspirators.

His nephew had been captured and killed by Pompey’s men. Julius Caesar, one of the members of the triumvirate, wanted to put his name on the list. Mark Antony refused because he was confident in his decision. He knew that if he put his nephew’s name on the list, it would be equivalent to killing him himself.

Being noble is another characteristic that would make Mark Antony a great leader. He is always looking out for the welfare of others. For example, when Julius Caesar was assassinated, Mark Antony could have become the leader of Rome. But instead, he chose to give the power to Octavianus, Julius Caesar’s grandnephew. He did this because he thought that Octavianus would be a better leader than he would be.

Mark Antony has these qualities and more. He gave a speech at Julius Caesar’s funeral that showed how Julius Caesar was a great leader and how the conspirators were wrong for killing him. The people of Rome should have listened to Mark Antony and taken revenge on Brutus and the other conspirators.
