Should there be all day summer school July and August?
The last school bell rings, and it signifies that it is summer time. The principal looks at the students’ average mark; he was not impressed by the grades students received. So the principal decides to operate a summer school for students during the summer time so that they can review what they have learned during the year. That’s not a smart idea; since it’s important that students learn about survival skills and etc. through outdoor learning, it cost too much school budget and it waste lots of time.
Outdoor learning experiences are important too, such as survival skills. In our classes during the school year we don’t learn things regarding survival skills, so the student should go camping and learn things such as that. When the student graduates from a university or college and he/she does not know the majority of the survival skills what will happen? Once some harmful situations or disasters appear, he/she can’t handle it. Survival skills are a part of education, but a different kind why not just let the child have both kinds of education?

That happens in summer school, for instance, you are struggling in art, but you didn’t get art as one of your subjects. If you are only struggling with one of the subjects you might as well just ask for the teacher’s advice to help you improve, that way you get to learn the subject more. As what I have mentioned above you need both kinds of education, outdoor and indoor. Now you get to go to the outdoor camp on a regular basis until the end of the day you can study for the subject you need to improve.
