Wuthering Heights By Emily Bronte

Wuthering Heights is a novel by Emily Bronte. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell. Wuthering Heights is often regarded as one of the greatest British novels ever written. The novel tells the story of the Earnshaw family, who live in the isolated Wuthering Heights estate on the Yorkshire moors. The story follows the turbulent lives of the family’s two children, Heathcliff and Catherine, who are raised together but eventually become estranged. Wuthering Heights is a classic work of romantic fiction, and has been hugely influential on subsequent literature.

I’d like to look at the conflicts that Heathcliff encountered in Wuthering Heights throughout the book. Heithcliffs personality was complicated. He had a difficult childhood, which is only partly revealed to the reader. All we know is that he was abandoned at a young age and recovered while Mr. Earnshaw found him sickly looking. Heathcliffe was then relocated to live at Wuthering Heights, where Mr. Earnshaws son, Hindley, felt jealous from the outset because he thought his father loved Heathcliff more than himself.

Hindly continuously made Heathcliff’s life difficult by tormenting him and making sure that he was always the outcast. However, Heathcliff was not a victim. He was very calculating and often times would use his own pain to manipulate those around him. For example, after Cathy dies, Heathcliff makes sure that Hindly is so distraught that he kills himself.

Heathcliff also kills Edgar in order to be with Cathy in death. His love for Cathy was all-consuming and destructive. He was willing to do whatever it took to be with her even if it meant hurting the people he claimed to love. The conflicts that Heathcliff faced were a direct result of his own actions and his inability to let go of the past.

Overall, Heathcliff’s character was very complex and intriguing. His motivations were never clear, which made him a very unpredictable character. I think that this is why Wuthering Heights is such a great novel. It allows the reader to explore all of the different aspects of human nature.

Hindley’s animosity for Heathcliff grew even more after he learned that he and Cathy were in love. To safeguard his sister, he manipulated Heathcliff into a vagabond over time. This ultimately compelled her to look for love elsewhere. When word got out that Cathy was going to marry another guy, Edgar, Heathcliff fled Wuthering Heights. After fleeing Wuthering Heights, Heathclif fmally had to start afresh and clearly succeeded because during this period he became very wealthy. He then apologized to Cathy for never having stopped loving her once again.

Cathy, who was now very ill, told Heathcliff that she loved him too and then died in his arms. Wuthering Heights is a novel by Emily Bronte. The novel follows the life of Heathcliff, an orphan who is taken in by Mr. Earnshaw and raised alongside his daughter Cathy. Hindlys hatred for Heathcliff worsens over time as he realizes that Heathcliff and Cathy have fallen in love.

To protect his sister, Hindly slowly turns Heathcliff into a vagabond which ultimatly forces her to seek love elsewhere. When Heathcliff overhears that Cathy is to be married to another man, Edgar Linton, he runs away from Wuthering Heights. After fleeing Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff is forced to start a new life and obviously succeeds at this because during this time he becomes very wealthy.

When Cathy didn’t reciprocate his love, Heathcliff became furious and married her sister-in-law, Isabelle, to spite her. At this point, Cathrine and Edgar were expecting their first child. Heathcliff’s marriage sent Catriona into a profound sadness. She became quickly ill after giving birth to her daughter, who subsequently died with her.

Prior to dying however, she confessed her genuine affection for him to him. After the death of Cathy, Heathcliff became an angry cynic full of hatred for everything around him. He desired revenge against Edgar Linton the most bitterly of all possible outcomes because he had taken away Cathy from him .

One day, Heathcliff heard that Catherine was alive and living in Liverpool. He immediately took the next train to go and see her. When he got there, he found out that she was married to a man named Edgar. Heathcliff didn’t care though, he still wanted her back. So began a long and arduous battle between Edgar and Heathcliff for Catherine’s love. In the end, Heathcliff won and they all lived “happily ever after.”

The novel tells the story of the Earnshaw family who live in Wuthering Heights, an isolated house on the moors of Yorkshire. The novel is narrated by Nelly Dean, the family’s servant. Wuthering Heights is a story of passion, love, and revenge. Heathcliff, the dark and brooding hero, is one of the most iconic characters in English literature. Wuthering Heights was very well received by critics upon its publication and is now considered a classic.

He spent years and years developing a solid plan to send Edgar to his grave. Linton, Catharine’s distant relative, is used by Heathcliff to entice her against her father’s wishes. When she gets there, Heathcliff’s new vengeful side is revealed. He traps Cathrine in the house and pushes her into marriage with Linton.

After she is finally released to see her father again, Heathcliff’s wish comes true. Her father, Edgar, lies on a deathbed and passes away shortly after Catharine returns home. Now that Edgar has died, Linton becomes the owner of his fortune because according To Heathcliff’s plan he will die soon after their wedding.

Heathcliff finally has all of Catherine’s love and Wuthering Heights to himself. It tells the story of the Earnshaw and Linton families who live on the Yorkshire moors. The story is primarily about the relationships between the characters, most notably Heathcliff and Cathy Earnshaw, and their struggles against poverty, social class, and their own passions.
