Beast, written by, Donna Jo Napoli is a very unique and thought provoking. This book has a great deal of suspense, and stunning language. Some things in particular that make this book interesting are the Well rounded characters and complicated relationships between the character. This is a great book, with a lot of complexity, and a different way of seeing the world. Overall, Beast, is a very well written book, with great ideas.
In Beast, the main character, Orasmyn’s comes across many challenges. For example, the first conflict is when he comes to prepare a camel for a sacrifice,and he notices a scar on the camels hump,which means that this camel is not fit to sacrifice. He decides that he is going to sacrifice it anyway, because of this, their god has put a curse on him. the curse is that his father will kill him. After this he confronted his dad, and they had a plan, but the plan fell through when Orasmyn ran into something, and became a lion. On the next day, his dad was hunting for lions for the Feast of Sacrifices, although Orasmyn got away, he knew that this would not work. He decides follow men to india, and once he gets there, he hopes to find himself a pride to live in. After many failed attempts, he realises that India is not the place for him, so he…

Also, his father, the king, is another major character, but he is both for and against Orasmyn. He tries to help him, but he does not know that he is trying to kill his own son. Another important character, that is briefly described in the traveler. This is a very significant character, because without him, Orasmyn would never have met Belle.
