It has been something we have been dealing with for a long time. It almost seems impossible to get rid of it, and we hear about it almost everyday. Littering. Littering has become such a regular problem that almost nobody cares about it anymore. Littering is wrong, and really harmful to everyone and the environment. There are three reasons why I believe this is so. One of them the reasons is that over 9 billion tons of litter end up in the ocean each year. Another is that littering is a waste of money. Finally to people that smoke, littering cigars is very toxic to the environment.

Litter in the world causes a lot of problems, especially in the world’s oceans. From the sidewalk to even the school playground. Leaving cigarette butts all over the place is toxic for for the environment. According to a poll conducted in Tennessee , only 50% of smokers claim to properly dispose of a cigarette. This means that the other 50% of people don’t dispose of it properly and are harming the environment.
Most of the time smokers litter their cigarettes is while driving. They tend to throw their cigarette out the window and act like nothing happened. This is a very wrong behavior not only on the environment but on the person too.
