The tale begins with Forrest sitting on a bench, munching on chocolates and telling his life story to the person next to him. Forrest Gump is on the bus seat, and he starts talking about his youth. His father strapped metal leg braces to keep his week legs in position so that he could walk. He was mocked all of the time, and none of the little ones wanted to talk or sit next to him.

Even his own mother always told him that he was different, and not in a good way. One day while Forrest was sitting on the bus bench, a girl named Jenny came and sat next to him. Jenny became Forrest’s best friend, and they stuck together through everything.

Even though Forrest had metal leg braces, he still walked everywhere with Jenny. He never complained, and just kept going even when it was difficult. When they got older, Jenny started hanging out with some bad kids, and she would often get into trouble. Forrest would always try to help her and get her out of trouble, but it seemed like nothing he did could stop her from making bad decisions. One day, Jenny ran away from home and Forrest never saw her again.

However, Forrest’s life changed when he was drafted into the Vietnam War. He didn’t want to go, but he didn’t have a choice. He served his country well, and even saved the life of his best friend, Bubba. When Forrest returned home from the war, he found out that Jenny was back in town. He went to see her, but she was different. She was now a mother with a child, and she had been through a lot of tough times.
