Switching Places
One September morning, I didn’t wake up from my alarm clock. Instead of my mom waking me up she decides to go ahead to school without me. I had a test in every subject that day! Then when I tried calling her she ignored my call because it rang once then went to voicemail. I tried several times after that to call her and she finally answered and I asked her why she left me at home. She told me because you didn’t wake up and get ready. I asked her why she didn’t wake me up, she said because you’re in seventh grade and should be able to do it yourself. Then she told this big story on how when she was in grade school and she had to wake up by herself in the fifth grade and blah blah blah.
When I returned the next day I had F’s in all classes and I lost my phone for the whole semester. The night I got home from the worst day of school I asked my mom if I could go to the football game. She told me I couldn’t go because my grades were low. I told her it wasn’t my fault but she told me that I needed to stay home and study. I thought about it and it made me more aggravated every time I thought about it.

She told me that school was easy for her because she has been there and done that. She said she was also a teacher so she knew a little more than average people. Mom also said she missed her job and missed cooking. She now gave me my phone back and said, “I know now that it was my fault that you failed in all your classes but a miracle happened and magically you have all A’s now.” I checked my grades and I did have all A’s!
