Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in 1877, this was one of the first inventions that established himself as one of the inventors of the future, a man who could reproduce previous sounds into the living rooms and homes of other.
Albeit this was not the original use of the phonograph, it soon developed into an amazing system which revolutionized the livelihood of realistically all of modern society. When Thomas Edison created the phonograph, it was not indeed an invention that everyone could afford and hold in their household. The sheer expense of the machine was enough that most people could not afford it, and the nature of the machine as well made it, quite cumbersome and unneeded in the household. The method on which the sound was recorded was very finite, and expensive.
A new roll of the metal mixture needed to be made every time that a voice wanted to be recorded, as a consequence of the minuteness of the recording capability. Not a lot of information in the form of sound could be stored on the thin metal rolls. Indeed the creation of the phonograph was interesting and novel for the generation it resided in, but novelty and interest within themselves does not create industries nor change the lives of essentially everyone on the planet. After Thomas had invented the phonograph and took the world by storm, he abandoned the product heading onto to projects henceforth.

Thomas took the idea of using wax rolls to store sound, instead of his metal one, and consequently made it into a wax disk creating the first record. This changed the music industry and many industries as the world knows it today. After he created the record, larger amounts of information could be stored in the disks, which made placing songs on them possible. Now every family could sit in their living rooms and listen to the songs that they adored over and over again. Not only that, they could listen to other songs as well, this changed household lived,and pub lives. Songs could be played at a whim, without the need for a live band.
People could have dances for the expensive of a little wax and electricity. This also gave the potential for artists to make even more money, as now they only needed to play once in order to sell the records. Previously the artists, needed to play a show whenever they wanted to make money. Now with the record big artists could make a living without the needless travel to expand their influence and name. However most artists did travel and play to make money from the live shows but this new idea was revolutionary and was the basis in which the modern music industry evolved today in.
The phonograph formed the basis for which most of our advanced technologies contain. The modern day speaker evolved from the phonograph, so in today’s technology the car, the phone, televisions. All of these have the speaker within their constitution and form. Thomas Edison brought music into the common house changing their lives and the lives of millions forever. It was unheard of, that the average person or a wealthy person by that standard, had a usable way to use electricity within the home. He created a system of wiring and electrical cords that could create and transport the electricity to each and individual home. Promising it to the city of New York, he buried a series of these cords underground so that he could move the electricity from his electricity station, which he created and invented, to the block around him. When he had hit the power, it lit up the sky and the way to the future respectively. Electricity revolutionized the way that humans could perform tasks in everyday society.
People no longer had to wash their clothes by hand, or burn gas to cook food. The work day increased. reviously when the sun set, the work day usually stopped as there was no proficient way to keep a light source other than candles and gas burners which were usable but not practical due to the small light source that they emitted. Most modern technologies use electricity today, which stems from Edison’s creations. For example all of th electrical items that are plugged into an electrical grid, which is almost all the things within a home, are fueled by Thomas Edison’s system and creation. Edison essentially created all of the grid system and the way that electricity is transported.
His creative process was the key to this success, with every problem that arose to him, he simply found, created or a combination of both a solution to overcome it. With this slow process Edison created the important system that is used even still today within the modern world. The same respectively for the light bulb. Thomas Edison’s light bulb would never have been useful or powerful if he had not had the ardent passion to improve it and make system where it was in fact usable. It was this creative system abd competition with not only himself but amongst others that contrived his inventions which changed the world.
