*Tick Tock…Tick Tock…Tick Tock* goes the womans wooden clock. Held tightly in her arms was her little kid. Louie laid restlessly in his bunk, with his father’s bible clutched in his arms. Louie was a 12 boy from Italy. His mom passed away when he was to young to even know her face, and his dad was too sick to come with him to America. He could feel the waves crash against the ship as they rocked him back and forth. He just sat there, thinking that he would soon be home. At Least thats what he thought of America. He could hear the whispering of people and the slight sound of people praying to their God. As he reached to get a firm grip around his bible, he could almost feel as if someone was looking at him. He grew up on a farm, and when he was 2 his parents were killed. He never truly knew what his parents looked like, but ever since he gets glimpses of two of the same people. Frankie always thought that those people, were his parents. When his foster parents got enough money, they put Frankie on a boat headed to America, to start a new life, where he, just like everybody else could start over. Gain another life, thats how Frankie thought of it. He was sea sick, he had never been on a boat before, he had only seen them in the stories that his foster dad read him. He was leaning out of a port hole, puking, all into the water. As his stomach settled, he wondered what he was going to do in America, he didn’t know anybody at all, he was alone. No family, no friends, no one. He sat down on his bunk, when he looked up he saw a girl, just staring at a boy. He no idea who these people were, but it for some reason caught his attention, he felt like he knew them. But theres no way he could have, he’d never seen these people in his life, ever. But there was a connection.
Each one of these kids did in fact have a connection, a goal, a dream. They all were sent off to America, by people who loved them. They were all told to thrive in their new home. As the children entered their new home, they were amazed by how big it was, how many people there were. The kids were baffled, at everything, the people, the cars, the stores that surrounded them as they walked…
