Gulliver is also unappreciative and rude to the Lilliputians, which gets him into trouble more then once throughout his stay there. Gulliver finally starts to see the error in his ways after he is captured by the Blefuscu people and put on trial for his crimes. Gulliver finally realizes how he has been treating the Lilliputians and how wrong it was for him to do so. Gulliver is also starting to see that the Lilliputians are not as bad as he thought they were, and are actually quite helpful and friendly people.
Gulliver even goes as far as to help the Lilliputians in their war against the Blefuscu people, something Gulliver would have never done before his change. In the fourth part, Gulliver visits the land of horses, where he is able to speak with them and learn about their culture. He is also able to ride on their backs and travel around the land. Gulliver begins to see that there are other ways of living and being that are just as good, if not better, than what he knows. He begins to question everything that he has been taught and starts to think for himself.
Near the end of Gulliver’s Travels, Gulliver is shipwrecked and washes up on a small island. He is then found by a group of people who take him to their home. Gulliver is finally able to rest and recover from his long journey. In this part, Gulliver is not able to do much since he is still very weak. However, we see that Gulliver is starting to think about his previous travels and how they have changed him. He wonders if there are other ways of living that he has yet to explore and whether or not he should continue traveling.
In conclusion, Gulliver’s Travels show us Gulliver’s change throughout the book. We see him become stronger and more confident in himself, as well as start to think for himself. Gulliver also starts to question the society that he was raised in and whether or not it is the best way to live.
