I have wanted to be a nurse since I was quite young. I’ve always noticed my mother going to lonely Armenian survivors who had fled to our nation following the genocide, caring for them and meeting their needs. Since then, I’ve always wanted to be a nurse. Because of so many reasons, but primarily because I want to serve people,
I started my high school journey in 2016 at one of the most competitive schools in my city and I was one of the very few Armenian students in my grade. Being a first generation student, I had to take Advanced Placement and honors classes to be on the same level with other kids who have been taking those type of classes since elementary school.
Since High school is free in Armenia, many low-income families cannot afford to send their children to private schools where they would learn much more efficiently. Throughout all these years, I have been getting good grades and being on High Honor Roll which has helped me get closer to my dream.
As a result, the primary reason I became a nurse was to assist people. ” Be the change you want to see in this world,” wrote Mahatma Gandhi. As a hardworking student striving for excellence, I am well suited for this prize. Getting an Egyptian high school diploma was tough because of the country’s stringent and time-consuming educational standards. In the United States, high school is shorter and simpler, therefore I would like to take advantage of this chance.
As someone who has faced many challenges in her life, I have learned that determination and resilience are key to success. I hope to use these qualities to make a difference in the lives of others as a nurse. I am grateful for this opportunity to apply for a scholarship, and I appreciate your time and consideration.
Now, I am a High School graduate and I am very proud of it. My GPA was not the highest but I worked hard to get where I am now. The reason why I want to apply for this scholarship is because college is expensive and without this help, it will be really difficult for me to attend college.
I have always been a good student; however, due to my family’s financial situation, college seemed like an impossible dream. Nevertheless, I kept hoping and working towards my goal. Thankfully, things have changed and my family can now afford to send me to college. Even though they are able to pay for my education, there are still other expenses like books, food and transportation. With this scholarship, I would be able to cover these additional costs and focus on my studies.
When I was a waitress at a new restaurant, I volunteered to stand outside and promote the food even though I was only hired as a waitress, not because it was my job but because it was a new business and I wanted it to succeed. My manager saw how passionate I was about the restaurant succeeding and eventually gave me a raise.
This experience has taught me that no matter what position I am in, I will always work hard to achieve my goals. I am a go-getter and have always been someone who takes initiative. These qualities would help me immensely if given the opportunity to attend college and pursue a degree.
I have always been told that I am a natural leader and possess many qualities that would make me an excellent candidate for scholarships. High school has definitely been a challenge but it has only made me stronger and more resilient. My grades may not be perfect but I have never given up and I am determined to finish high school with a high school diploma.

I spent many hours outside the restaurant on several chilly days, educating customers about the cuisine and going to various locations to give coupons in order to entice people to come, I also offered a lot of suggestions for my supervisor to draw attention to the eatery and improve service quality. Both situations show how much effort I put forth no matter what job I have to do, which makes the standards relevant.
I have demonstrated time and time again that I am willing to put in the extra effort to complete a task. In High school, I was always one of the first students to arrive to class and one of the last to leave. I would often stay after class to ask questions or get help from my teacher. My High school diploma is evidence of the hard work I put into my education. Now, as I look towards continuing my education, I hope to receive this scholarship so that I can continue working hard towards my goals.
The second reason I am receiving this scholarship is my outstanding performances, which are the result of my hard work. For example, after two years of difficult circumstances as a result of attempting to obtain my high school diploma, I completed all of the examinations and received an A+ in each subject and a 96.8 percent score out of 100% in every course I had to take, making me the third best student in the class.
There are other students who have even better results, but they don’t work as hard as I do and they don’t have the same difficulties to face. For example, my friend John is a very intelligent student, but he doesn’t get good grades because he doesn’t study enough and he is always playing video games instead of doing his homework.
I know that if I continue working hard and getting good results, I will be able to get a scholarship to go to college and have a better future.
