Why am I in college? An excellent question – I graduated from high school in May 2002 after almost ten years. While most of my friends and high-school graduates were considering going to college, I wasn’t. My mother asked me what I wanted to do with my life after high school when she noticed that I didn’t have a clue.
I would tell her that I wanted to be a mechanic like my father and grandfather before me. My mother would tell me that I needed to go to college so that I could get a “good” job. At the time I really didn’t know what she meant by a “good” job. All I knew is that I wanted to work on cars for a living.
A few months after graduation, I began working with my father at his shop. I enjoyed working on the cars and trucks and learning everything that I could from my father. After a couple of years of working at the shop, I began to realize that my mother was right, I needed to go to college if I wanted to have a “good” job.
So in 2004, I enrolled in a local community college and began taking classes towards a degree in Automotive Technology. In 2006, I transferred to a four-year university and continued working towards my degree. In May of 2010, I finally graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology.
While I was in college, I worked hard to get good grades and learn as much as I could about cars and trucks. I also interned at a local dealership so that I could get some real-world experience. After graduation, I was able to get a job as a service manager at a dealership.
So why am I in college? Because without a college degree, I would not be where I am today. Without college, I would not have the knowledge or the experience to do my job. And without my degree, I would not be making the kind of money that I am today.
So if you are thinking about going to college, or are already in college, just remember why you are there. You are there to get an education so that you can get a “good” job and make a good living.
High school graduates should go to college because it will help them get a “good” job. College provides students with the opportunity to learn more about their chosen field, as well as gain important practical experience. A college degree also typically results in higher earnings potential. Therefore, going to college is a smart investment for most high school graduates.
I was looking forward to putting my high school days behind me and moving on with my life, but I thought about where I would be in a year or two, let alone 10 or 20 years. But I wanted to make my mother proud, so I went to speak with my guidance counselor at the college in which we used to live (back home in Boston).
After two semesters at a community college back home in Boston, I was taking the fundamentals of English and math classes; still, I had no idea what I wanted to study. My family didn’t have the opportunity to attend many schools because they were too poor; not many people in my family had access to education like this.
My father always told me that college was a waste of time and money He didn’t see the importance in it but I wanted to go to make him proud as well So with that being said I talked to my guidance counselor again and he told me about this amazing program called College Now He explained how it would benefit me and make my transition from high school to college a lot smoother. It would also give me an opportunity to take free classes at my local community college So I decided to sign up for it, and I’m glad I did because otherwise, I wouldn’t have known what I wanted to do with my life.
I want to be a teacher now High school was tough for me I didn’t have the best grades and I was always getting into trouble But I know that I can be a good role model for my students and help them through their own journey in high school and beyond So that’s why I’m in college And I’m never going to give up on my dreams no matter how hard it gets.
So, in order to make the most of it, I was going to do everything I could. I’ve always been interested in medicine; for nearly four years, I was a CNA, and the pay wasn’t too bad; it paid my bills. But because I took some time off and just ended up working again, I enrolled in a few vocational courses that went by quickly. Nothing major happened after that. As a medical assistant, though, I couldn’t obtain employment since they required someone with prior experience.
I was working at a daycare but it just wasn’t cutting it so I decided to go back to school. I had my GED but I wanted more so I went back and got my High School diploma then I went on to college.
So the reason why I am in college is to gain more knowledge, get a degree and be able to have a successful career.
High school is the starting point of planning my future path. It’s where I took interest in some things that led me here today. interests such as biology, literature, and art were all passions of mine going into college. They still are and I want to learn more about them so that’s one of the reasons for my decision to attend college. College will help me dig deeper into these topics and provide me with a better understanding so that I can make an informed decision about my future career.
In addition to having a love for learning, another important factor in my decision to attend college was the pressure to succeed. In our society, there is a lot of pressure to go to college and get a degree. A degree is seen as a necessity in order to have a successful career. For me, this pressure was something that I could not ignore. I felt like I needed to go to college in order to be successful in life.
So these are some of the reasons why I am in college. I am here to gain knowledge, get a degree, and be able to have a successful career. High school is where my interests led me to this decision and the pressure to succeed is something that I could not ignore. College will help me understand my interests better and provide me with the skills that I need for a successful career.
