One Halloween night in Salt Lake City, Utah, a group of fifteenyear-olds were discussing their plans for their mischievious and haunted Halloween night. Five miles away from the Dillon household, there is an abandoned, wore-down, and supposedly possessed hospital. The town mayor, Mayor Jessica Laughlin, has forbid any town citizen to set foot in in the Salt Lake City Memorial Hospital. Why is it forbidden? Well, five years ago on Halloween night, at exactly midnight, everyone in the hospital disappeared, and the cadavers were never found, but the souls of the psych ward still roam the hospital.
Lot’s of questions went around the Dillon household when Brett and Hailey Dillon announced that they’d be sneaking into the “Haunted Hospital. ” “Are you psychotic?! ” uttered Caroline. “Nope, just venturesome! ” declared the twins. Joshua chimed in, “Count me in! I’m a little psychotic. ” “Incase you have forgotten, it’s forbidden to even go near the hospital! ” exclaimed Caroline. “Trust me Caroline, we’re highly aware. You’ve done nothing but remind us since the idea first surfaced. ” said Hailey. After listening to hours and hours of rivalry, Brett came to a verdict, I’ve decided, the entire group will not only go to the hospital, but we will be spending the night in the psych ward. ”
“Okay, now you’ve definitely lost your marbles, Brett. ” proclaimed Caroline. “Look Caroline, we’re going, with or without you. If you want to stay home and do nothing, go right ahead, I’m not going to stop you. It’s your choice, Caroline. ” “Fine, I’ll go, but I probably won’t enjoy it. ” said Caroline. Later that night, the gang geared up, and told their parents that they’d be attending an over-night Halloween party at Joshua’s house. “Alright guys, time to roll! ” said Joshua. So, what exactly is the plan? What if the doors are locked or someone catches us sneaking in? Or worse, what if we see something traumatizing and we have to go to therapy for the rest of our lives?! ” Caroline said worried. “Well, we haven’t thought that far ahead, I guess we’ll find out when we get there, won’t we? ” said Joshua. At that moment, the group realized that they had finally reached their destination.
As the group walked to the doors, everyone started to have second thoughts. After several minutes of silence and hesitation, Caroline rushed to the doors, and gave the locked doors a hard tug. Well, I guess this is it guys. This is the day we conquer some of our biggest fears, and put the rumors of Salt Lake City Memorial Hospital to rest. ” declared Hailey. As soon as the rusty and creaky doors swung open, a gush of frigid air came swooshing out. The air sent chills down the spines of the teen. “Let’s do this guys! ” exclaimed Brett. Once one foot was in the door, there was no turning back, and they had to make it through one entire night in the most terrifying spot in all of Salt Lake, Utah. “Guys, let’s make a rule; everyone must have a flashlight, and someone with them at all times.
Nobody is allowed to be alone… EVER! Do we understand? Joshua said confidently. The group then decided on other simple and obvious rules, such as, don’t bother anything, if anything ever takes a turn for the worst, flicker your flashlight, etc. The group then proceeded to tour the first floor, and tried to find the steps leading to the higher levels. The psych ward was on the third floor. “Guys, I’m all for adventure and fun, but I’m not too sure I’m up for staying the night. This place is a little sketchy. ” Hailey remarked. “Too bad, you were well aware of what you were getting into before we even opened the doors.
If you’re having second thoughts, tough it out, breathe, cry, laugh, I really don’t care, just do what you need to do to make it through the night. ” stated Caroline. “Anyone else think that it’s a little funny how Caroline was terrified about the idea of this before we left the house, but now that we’re here, she’s the only one that can stay calm and collected under pressure? ” asked Joshua. The group then headed up to the third floor to pick their bedrooms. The third floor was gloomy. There was a faint smell of death and blood throughout the first and second floor, but it was much, much worse upon the third level.
The slight breeze would occasionally cause the doors to swing open. “Guys… come here. ” said Hailey. As the others walked to join Hailey, they noticed that she just stood there in shock, doing absolutely nothing but breathing, and she seemed to be having difficulty with that. When the others joined Hailey in the doorway of the gelid and dim room, the teens stood there in complete shock when they saw the young girl hanging from the ceiling. “Is anyone else seeing this?! ” exclaimed Caroline. “Okay, that’s it. I’m done here. I’ve seen enough of this place. I’d like to go home and watch SpongeBob. ” said Joshua.
Joshua slowly tip-toed backwards to try to find a way to escape without getting lost, and without the others noticing. After Joshua took about seven steps backwards, he felt a cold breeze on the back of his neck, causing the hairs on his neck and arms to raise. He then turned around and saw a ghost-like figure floating in the air behind him. The ghost then proceeded to talk to him. She said, “Come and play with us Joshua. We can be best friends. ” Joshua darted after seeing the mysterious figure, gathered the group, and locked themselves in a room.
“Guys, we’ve got to go. We’ve been here or an hour and we’ve seen several creepy things. said Joshua. “Well, I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but you locked us in the room with the hanging girl. ” Brett pointed out. Brett reached for the lock on the door, and as soon as his fingertips touched the doorknob, it fell off. “Great! Joshua stupidly chose the worst room on the floor, locked us in it, and now we’re stuck in here. If anyone has any ideas as to how we get out of here, now would be a good time to speak up. ” declared Caroline. “What if we just kick the door down? ” asked Hailey. The group then huddles up, and charges at the door. After three attempts, the door finally opens.
After the group gets the door down, they scurry down the long and gloomy hallway and down the many steps of the spiral staircase. The only problem is, the entryway doors no longer open. “Umm…. I guess now is as good a time as any to tell you all something, when we first got here, and Caroline pulled the doors open, something went wrong. After the doors closed, I tried to reopen them to make sure that they’ll open when we leave, and they wouldn’t budge. ” said Joshua. “Guess we’ll have to try a window or go through the basement. ” said Caroline. As the teens made their way through the basement, they see strange things.
They saw old toddler toys, damaged clothing, and even bones! “Let’s not stop and become Sherlock Holmes. I’m ready to go home and sleep in my bed, where it’s safe. ” said Hailey. Once the group found a window, they busted out the glass and crawled out, one by one. As they were breaking the glass, they found the body of a blonde haired woman that looked to be in her mid-twenties. Nobody bothered to mention it because, it wouldn’t have made a difference. The group then walked back to Joshua’s and spent the night there. The experience changed the group in little ways. Until next year……
